Waltham Abbey offers many local attractions to make a day of it in and around the town. There is the famous Parish Church and the ruins of the Monastery. Epping District Museum is located in the town just a short walk from the market.

Also close by are The Royal Gunpower Mills Heritage Centre and the Lee Valley White Water Centre
